When Maureen embarks on what appears to be a last-chance opportunity for a meaningful romance, her manipulative mother selfishly sets out to destroy the relationship, driving Maureen to breaking point and the play’s terrifying climax.

Caught in the conflict is young novice, Sister James, a teacher at the school. Set in the 1960s, what transpires is a battle between old values and new concepts; certainty and doubt.

This play focuses on the failed marriage between T S Eliot and his first wife, Vivienne Haigh-Wood. They met in 1915 while Eliot was a student at Oxford and they secretly married soon after. However, despite the initial infatuation, they drift apart: Eliot leaving to take a job in America, Viv eventually committed to a sanatorium. A work of wit, tenderness and despair.

This multi-award winning play is a gripping drama where the characters are immersed in conflict and audiences are left to decide where lies the truth.

The arrival of his youngest brother with their overbearing father further challenges Michael in his attempt to rescue his family from the clutches of the past.
